This is what your
story looks like.

No artists hired. No prompting expertise. Just a sentence — and the image that was always waiting inside it.

The Process

From the words
in your head
to the screen.

01
Say what you see

Write what you see. A rain-soaked street. A face half in shadow. A phone that rings at the wrong moment. Plain language. No prompting skills needed.

02
It speaks your language

Imagginary speaks cinema. Dutch angle. Rack focus. Golden hour. It reads your words the way a director of photography would — and translates instinct into image.

03
The frame appears

A cinematic storyboard panel appears. Your character, your mood, your shot — rendered in seconds. Chain them together and you have a sequence. A sequence becomes a story.

What you type
INT. DETECTIVE'S OFFICE — NIGHT. Close-up on weathered hands shuffling case files. Golden lamplight. Film noir. Anxious mood.

What's Inside

Every tool a director
needs. Nothing they don't.

Studios spent decades gatekeeping these tools. We put them on your laptop.

Film Dictionary

Three hundred cinematic terms — from film noir to rack focus to chiaroscuro — built into Imagginary's core. Speak like a director. It listens like one.

300+ terms · Community
Character Studio

Describe your character once. They show up the same way in panel three as they did in panel one — same coat, same silhouette, same presence. Continuity, without the crew.

Script Reader

Paste your screenplay. Walk away. Come back to a sequenced storyboard — panels, ambient sound, scored music — assembled from your words alone. One click. One story.

Pro · Full screenplay import
Motion Comics

Your panels breathe. Rain falls. The camera pushes in. Characters move. Assembled into a motion comic with music and voice — cinematic enough to pitch before you've cast a single actor.

Style Vault

Film Noir Ink. Studio Ghibli Watercolour. Comic Book Bold. Choose a world — and every panel you generate lives inside it. One aesthetic. One vision. One film.

Local. Always.

Your story never touches a server. No API keys. No subscription to begin. Everything runs on your hardware — and because the code is open, you don't have to take our word for it.

I opened it and had my first panel in two minutes. I didn't configure anything. I just described a shot — and there it was.

Your story belongs

Every panel is generated on your machine. Your screenplay, your characters, your vision — none of it passes through a server. Not because we promise it. Because the architecture makes it impossible.

Who It's For

Made for anyone who closes
their eyes and sees a scene.

If you've ever had a story you couldn't show anyone — this is for you.

01
The Indie Filmmaker

"I storyboard in my head.
Now I can show people."

You have the vision. You've always had it. What you've never had is the budget for a storyboard artist — or the time to learn Photoshop. Imagginary puts a full pre-production pipeline on your laptop. Describe the shot. See the frame. Pitch the film.

What changes
  • Pitch to investors with a visual deck, not just a script
  • Brief your DP before the first meeting
  • Lock your visual language before you shoot a frame
02
The Screenwriter

"I want to see my script
before I pitch it."

Words on a page are invisible to everyone except you. Imagginary reads your screenplay and renders it — scene by scene, shot by shot — so the producer across the table sees exactly what you see. Not a summary. The actual film, before it exists.

What changes
  • Paste a scene, walk away with a storyboard
  • Catch pacing and structural problems visually
  • Walk into any pitch with something to show
03
The Game Narrative Designer

"My team needs to see
the world I'm building."

Narrative design lives in your imagination until the game ships. Imagginary gives you rapid scene previs — cinematic panels that communicate tone, environment, and story to artists, engineers, and producers before a single asset is built.

What changes
  • Align a team around a visual tone before production starts
  • Iterate on narrative scenes without waiting for concept art
  • Present cutscene direction to stakeholders with clarity
04
The Animation Enthusiast

"I have stories to tell.
I just can't draw."

You don't need to draw. You never did. The best animators in history weren't drawing artists — they were storytellers. Imagginary gives you the visual language of animation without a single sketch. Your ideas, rendered. Your sequences, moving.

What changes
  • Produce a motion comic of your story in an afternoon
  • Explore visual styles without learning any software
  • Share something real, not just a description of an idea
05
The Brand Creative Director

"The client needs to feel
the campaign before it's shot."

Pre-production decks shouldn't look like PowerPoint. Imagginary gives brand campaigns the cinematic treatment they deserve — shot-by-shot storyboards that communicate vision, mood, and execution to clients who need to see it to believe it.

What changes
  • Present a storyboarded campaign concept in the first meeting
  • Lock visual tone with clients before a crew is booked
  • Iterate on concepts in hours, not days

FAQ

Questions we actually
get asked.

Do I need a GPU? +

No GPU needed to get started. Imagginary runs on any modern Mac or Windows machine — including Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3). Panel generation works on CPU, though it's slower. A dedicated GPU speeds things up significantly. If you don't have one, Pro tier generates panels in the cloud in under 60 seconds.

What is Ollama? Do I need to install it? +

Ollama is a free tool that runs AI language models locally on your machine. It's how Imagginary understands your shot descriptions — turning plain language into cinematic intent. The installer walks you through it step by step. It takes about two minutes and you never have to think about it again.

Is it really free? What's the catch? +

Community tier is genuinely free, forever. No trial period. No watermarks. No credit limit. Because generation runs on your hardware, we have no cloud costs to pass on to you. We make money when you upgrade to Pro or Studio for cloud generation and advanced features — not by limiting your creativity at the free tier.

How long does it take to generate a panel? +

On Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3): 30–60 seconds. On a dedicated NVIDIA GPU: 10–20 seconds. On CPU only: 3–8 minutes. Pro tier cloud generation via Muapi takes around 10–15 seconds regardless of your hardware. The first panel always takes slightly longer as models load — subsequent panels are faster.

Do my prompts or panels get sent to the cloud? +

Never — on Community tier. Everything stays on your machine. On Pro cloud generation, your prompt is processed and immediately discarded — we operate a zero-knowledge architecture, meaning panels are not stored beyond the session. Imagginary is open source, so you can verify every claim we make about data handling by reading the code.

Can I use the panels commercially? +

Yes. The panels you generate are yours. Imagginary uses DreamShaper 8 by default — a community model released under a permissive licence for commercial use. If you use Style LoRA models on Pro tier, those are also cleared for commercial storyboard and pre-production use. As always, storyboards are pre-production tools — your final film, pitch deck, or campaign is entirely your work.

Windows and Linux — are they supported? +

Mac (Apple Silicon) is the primary platform and is fully supported. Windows support is in active development — an NSIS installer is ready, pending final testing. Linux is available as an AppImage. If you're on Windows or Linux and want early access, join the Discord and we'll get you set up manually.
